The Dig

How goes it peeps? It's hot here already and I'm really trying to curb my whining about it. No promises on how long I can hold out though. Consider that a warning. You know, for your own good.
Anyway a couple of weeks ago Bret had to go up in the attic space to replace our attic fan. That meant clearing stuff out of my sewing room closet, the location of the attic and crawl space access, convenient don't you think? Anyway in putting stuff back I came across a tote bag with this in it. Circa 2005.
All it needs is 3 corners and the top is done. You might think I'm working on it right now. Because you're nice like that. However I'm just sitting near an a/c register. Not complaining.

LOVE that quilt top. Finish it while you still have the fabrics. Can't tell you how many people come into the store looking for one or two fabrics to finish a quilt that is almost done. Do you know how hard it is to match muslin?

Lucky find!!! When we lived in Livermore in the late 60's and 70's only 10% of the homes in the area had air conditioning, even our home on Canterbury. They didn't feel like it was hot enough to warrent it. Yea, right! My sister had an upstairs apartment with not much insulation and no air conditioning. I'm glad you have it now. I'm sure we would have had it installed had we stayed. Stay cool!!

Ahhh! hanging out with the ac and watching bad tv. Stops the quilt productivity every time (I speak for myself, of course)

You make me laugh out loud "...circa 2005..." like it is ancient. Cute, very cute. Get that thing quilted. It is a darling flimsy! So far not extremely hot in Utah. In fact at work the air conditioning makes me want to bring a quilt to work. I wonder where I could find one of those???

Great quilt. Those fabrics always make me smile...don't know why they were sometimes called depression era repro fabrics....

Lurv that quilt -- think how pretty it will be for summer. So, um, hurry up. :-) I really like the black in it. We're enjoying a break from the heat. I had to put a sweatshirt on to sit on the porch this morning. Yahoo!

Cute top Pam. I think it will look darling on a garden swing, when it cools down in the garden and you can head out to the garden and not have to sit by an a/c vent dreaming of the garden....

Oh I love it. Come sit in my sewing room...south facing/no insulation/AC doesn't vent to it/in freekin' Texas/doesn't cool off at night and tell me again you're hot! heh...I kid. I know hot is not fun...I mean, you only can take so much off. At least in winter you can bundle up.
Still...finish that quilt! It is gorgeous!

Wish I would find something like that in my attic. It would be so much better than finding mice (only during the winter). Love it!! Can't wait to see it all finished!

It just so happens I know a nice and cool place to sew (and finish) that beautiful top. And it also happens that this cool place is a place of convienence... you don't even have to pack up the top... you can leave it in the #niceandcoolsewingplacewherecoffeeflowsanditrainsin100calpacsjustsaying

That is a delightful quilt, Pam. It looks like a summer quilt or coverlet. Just right for when the sun goes down and there's a cool breeze. There, does that make you feel better? I hate the heat, too. It's just no fun to feel sticky.

Okay, Pam, it's time you come for a visit. We have reached 70 degrees only twice this summer. Yesterday's high was 68. Today, it's predicted to be 60! No A/C here!

I ♥ the fabric choices - oh so pretty!!! I find its hard to think about a nice warm comfy quilt on hot days - which is probably why my quilt is sitting unfinished too.
