The Day After

So whatcha up to bloggy peeps? Are you out getting those Black Friday deals? I'm dying to know, since you couldn't pay me to go out in the crowds. Thanksgiving was over in the blink of an eye and I even got to bed early and slept like a log. A LOG PEOPLE, A LOG FULL OF TURKEY!!! Frankie and I were up at 5 am though watching the news. Lots of people buying big TV's !!!
Much to my own disappointment, the Pixie's didn't come clean the remainder of the kitchen, so I will work on that today. Pots and pans. They're the worst. Frankie already hit the road and was back in her town shortly after 9am, the traffic so light. Bret is off to work, although he's feeling tempted by electronic deals. HE'S A CRAZY MAN!

I'm home alone admiring my new quilt. Elizabeth's trunk show quilts from her book came home after a year, and she gave this one to me!!! I popped it right up on the wall and will leave it there till the Christmas decorations go up, whenever that is! Then it will go right back up for spring. Is it the cutest ever? All my favorite colors and CHERRIES. What a great friend.

Ok I guess I ought to get cracking around here. I'm not leaving the house so it's all about comfy clothes and CSI marathons and getting some stuff done. I FEEL LIKE SEWING!!! And I have barely sewn much at all since market.

So tell me everything peeps! xo

I have been taking down fall decorations. I, too, avoid the early morning "Black Friday" crowds, but I do like to go out and be an onlooker. I went to Walmart last night and bought what I wanted: Lips, a karoke game for the xbox 360. It has two microphones, so hubby can enjoy it, too.

I love the quilt. You guys (you and Elizabeth)take care of each other!

Have a fun day!

Hi Pam,

I'm done! Black Friday was really a dark grey here. And, COLD & wet. Did you try drugstore.com for the soap?

Funny thing was...we were calling for the maid Gerta to come clear up too and she never came! We couldn't figure out where the heck she ran off to! I think I'll have to fire her as she left me to clean it all up myself!

I can't imagine who NEEDS to go to those 5am sales. Lord knows we buy enough STUFF all through the year.
Sewing in front of the heater and the tv. Yep, I think I'll go do that myself today! :-)

Dishes! We tried to do them as we cooked but it is so much. I wouldn't leave the house on black friday unless they were giving out homer simpson's billion dollar bills, well nearly. I don't like crowds and I don't like trudging from one store to the next - I love online shopping. The new quilt is lovely. How sweet.

No shopping for me either. I went to work & made tuna melts for supper. I have some December birthdays to think about as well as Christmas, so I better get a grip.
Love the garden quilt!

Okay, I didn't have any dishes as we had Thanksgiving at my brother's house. Although, I did help clean. Sleeping like a log is wonderful, isn't it?? I am with you, I would never go out on Black Friday!! So therefore, nothing to share, sorry. I love the quilt and where it hangs. How lucky of you to be the recipient!!

Well I couldn't resist a trip to a couple of quilt shops yesterday - It's wet and gray here and everyone else is at the malls, so I got all the fabric sales to myself and made a good dent in the retail economy! Elizabeths quilt is adorable! Hope you get some sewing done! Cheers!

I actually went out to find fabric, (What else?) but that was the extent of it. I also spent a couple of hours shopping online and I am proud to say I am 3/4's done with my Christmas shopping. Hooray. The quilt is adorable.

I worked from home half a day (and looked like something the cat dragged in!) ... then I spent the afternoon SEWING !!! (an almost unheard of event ) .... and only 2 or 3 interruptions to provide taxi services to kid #2 (and far be it from me to exert any energy changing out of my "cat dragged in" outfit .... I did however comb my hair and put my sunglasses on ... because putting any makeup on was just too much trouble yesterday!)

Where the heck have I been? 3 posts I've managed to miss?
Well, you already know what I've been doing...or not doing.
Love the vignette! You are definitely the right person for that quilt.

We stayed in ALL day on Black Friday (except to run out and get our tree). Its our tradition to decorate on the day after thanksgiving and it makes me so happy. No shopping for me!

As predicted the only thing I bought on black Friday was cheese and beer.

I love that quilt!

I am still cleaning up my holiday mess.
